Union Street Retaurant and Bar, Jennifer Tefft Band, and Evan Goodrow Band
are teaming up to fight stroke and raise stroke awareness.
On Saturday, May 9, Jennifer Tefft and Evan Goodrow will be performing with their bands at a charity event for Tedy’s Team and the American Stroke Association. Tedy's Team was started in 2005, and is led by Tedy Bruschi, a member of the three-time Superbowl champion New England Patriots and a stroke survivor, and his wife, Heidi. The funds raised by Tedy's Team go the American Stroke Association to bring increased awareness and funding for research and services specifically focused on stroke, stroke survivors, and stroke prevention. Over 40 Tedy’s Team members will be running the marathon in April, and even more will participate in the Falmouth Road Race in August.
The work of the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, is vital to the prevention of stroke and to enable the medical community to help those that have suffered a stroke. They continue to be instrumental in helping to find new ways for prevention, treatment of stroke patients, and assistance for their families.

· Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability in the United States
· 29% of the victims of stroke are under 65
The event will be held at Union Street restaurant and bar in Newton, and hosted by current and past Tedy’s Team members Carol Chaoui of Wellesley and Jackie Avery of Ashland. Items generously donated by local businesses will be raffled as part of the fundraiser.
Light snacks will also be available to guests.
